Exclamation Interesting Results OCing at Default vCore.

Because it's getting hotter now inside & out I've been having to reduce the vcore and frequency to keep the CPU temps in check.
So just for the fun of it I decided to set my CPU vcore to default to see how far it would go like this before it became unstable.

Much to my surprise, it was able to clock stable to 3.28Ghz at stock voltage!
Not sure why, but now this CPU & board clocks much higher at default vcore with much lower heat output. (1.11v Idle / 1.24v Load)

Anyways, I got any idea of how to make my cheap cooler work better.
I got a 60mm fan that I'm going to mount to the back side of the cooler so that it will have a push/pull config on the fans.
Then see if it makes a diff in temps.
I have a feeling it will because the hot air coming out the back side of the cooler is barely moving.
I'll let ya know my results and post some pics on what I did to mod the cooler so that this would work.
Slight mod to my Asus V Guard Series Cooler

It's great to discover that you still get a decent OC at book voltage!

Wait until you get into the 45nm stuff, I've maxed out the FSB on my motherboard (450) and the Q9450 is still sitting on auto voltage..

Exclamation

Yea, I was amazed at what it does now compared to when I first started overclocking it.
I guess this goes to prove once again that "Burn in" periods and stability do go hand it hand, Scientific or not...
