Biostar GF7050V-M7 SE & 177.** drivers

I spent most of yesterday on an old problem. For what ever reason, on a reboot all I had was the wallpaper, no desktop, typical of a 177.** driver install. I then spent quite a few pointless hours trying to get any 177.** driver to take. none would. I would try a regular install and then one pointing windows at that driver when it wants to install the vesa driver. That is the only way I got one driver to install. the 177.89. It would not install this time. I use Drive Sweeper in safe mode and Wintools Ultimate to clear the registry.
I finialy did a system restore to get going agian. I sure wish I could figure out what is causing this.
Maybe a bios update but the board is new and the bios is dated 04/15/08. I haven't found anything else.

That is what i ended up doing. I couldn't remember how i got this driver to take when i did it. Being able to run the GPU client depends on the 177.** drivers. Hopefully there will be a bios upgrade some time soon. that is the only thing I can think of.

System Restore is a POS...(No offense Porpor! )I disabled that! What it's good for is storing Trojans & Viruses...
I use Acronis True Image Echo for all my system backups.
They make "Perfect" 1:1 image backups of your HD Partitions and are half the size once compressed during the imaging process so they don't take up a lot of space.
So not matter what, even if you can bootup to windows anymore you can use the rescue disc & still load your image file and within 6 mins everything is back to where it was as if nothing ever was wrong!
Acronis TI I do Love...HUGE time saver when it comes to recovering from a Windows disaster.

Hey Porpor,
Have you tried the 177.84 Forceware drivers?
They will support your card. (8 series & up)
You can download those here...
CUDA driver: NVIDIA Driver for Microsoft Windows XP/Vista with CUDA Support (177.84). Includes driver support for 8 series and higher GPUs.
Download Site

There is also a diver written for the 6900GT specificity. I think I've tried them all at one point or another.
177.84 is the one I've got working.

I have Acronis Disk Director Suite, 10 times the program that Partition Magic would wish it was.

This says you got the 177.89 driver to install. Was this a mis-print?
This is why I offered up the 177.84 driver.
