And thank you, my friend!
I wiped out C:\ again. It didn't feel right. I Stopped All OC, installed mostly just necessary software and drivers. Some other stuff to-Live Mail, One Care and 2 other malware programs. Acronis, both Disk Director and True Image. A couple more things i want and then I'll try the back up. Right now-Smoooooth!

Did these just to run them. Everything is stock so that my installs were clean. I'm going to do a back up in just a little bit-want to double check my soft ware and drivers-That reminds me-Driver magic.

Here are the 1st OC run:
E4300@2.75Ghz

9600GT 1GB
Shaders: 1713
GPU: 675
Memory: 915

I think I did something right! I'll let it fold tonight and then tomorrow evening I'll start stressing this thing. Temps are good so no problem there. I relay haven;t seen the temps vary much (+-15c) no matter what happens. I'll try and hard on it tomorrow!

So far, so good!
As you go along do backups so you can go back to the last good configuration with all you software & system files intact in case you run into any problems as you go higher.

Already started to develop a problem. I have to click twice to reboot, and if I do something with the desktop, like change wallpaper, explorer will develop a problem and closes. When it comes back, Dr. Watson screen pops up saying it can't debug and then my desk top freezes. Time to back off the OC to start with.

You just described corruption in your systems folders. This is when you back off on the OC, & reinstall your backup that is good, then try to figure out why you got corruption.
Might be because you don't have your southbridge voltage high enough, but that's just a guess.
Once you give Acronis True Image a chance, you will see that the backup you install is perfect. I totally trust this backup application now & have been using it now for over 5 years.

This is going to be interesting-I want back to stock-haven't tested it yet. on the trail of both cores being used for folding but neither will back off when I ned to do something else. Be back when I get TR or someone over ther to tell me what i did wrong in my set up.

I haven't forgotten you my friend! I got one problem solved. so now I'll do a little work on the desk top one. You know a lot more about this than I do but I set both voltages a little high on purpose so I would make sure not to have any problems and if it got a little warm-then I could back off a little.
Let me ask you this. Why is my cursor flickering in and out, at times I cant see it at all. Would that have something to do with this?
I don't have a problem doing the back up[if i did it right-I better find out now!] but I also like to find an answer if there is one.

Flickering Cursor is also a systems corruption problem as that's part of the systems 32 folder.
Have you tried a check disk fix yet. Sometimes this will fix the corruptions you have in your Windows folder.
It's in Tools Error checking.

You win an fifth of relay good Idaho vodka!
I ran HDD Reserection off of Hirem's boot Cd. It took about 6 hrs to run, thorourow sob! Then I ran NTSFSKDSK-curser is back to normal. Still twice to shut down.

Question about Acronis. I'm going to run the restore on mine-learn how it works more than any thing.
If I install Acronis on the Compaq, can I use my backup from this rig to put it on the other machine?

Windows will not like that unless it is an identical machine. Remember that windows installs the drivers and configures for that particular box; when it is a different box I'd be surprised if it booted correctly.

He is correct on this. If you try to load a bunch of drivers for your machine that are with the Acronis backup onto another machine that require different drivers I don't think it's going to like it at all...
That & "Windows" will see a radical change in HW of the PC & ask to be validated & activated again, that's if it will even boot.

Acronis True Image makes a "perfect" one to one backup of your entire OS partition.
Programs, drivers & anything else that's on that partition or hard drive you are backing up.
