Hope the radiator arrives next week, i'm looking forword to run on 3.4 ^^
That's a quick test enough to see if there's any immediate problems with voltage or settings. If it passes the 1 hour then there's a good chance it will go forever that way or you are very close to having it down.
That & I've already run my system at 3.46GHz but with 2gigs of memory so the added noise by the 4x1Gb memory dimms required some different settings to make it stable & that was using the 5-5-5-15 timings with a bit more juice on the mem voltage.

"I also can't get any voltages in OCCT..."
That's why I use Speedfan too is so that OCCT will use those sensor readings, of course you will have to setup Speedfan first as this is the sensors to be read.
Once that's done then click the gear tab (settings) in OCCT then click monitoring.
You set that up in the Monitoring tab & choose Speedfan, then set up the voltages & temps in the pulldown menus next to the boxes.

To get the sensors in OCCT set up I run ORTHOS & leave OCCT on but not testing. Then I set Speedfan for Centigrade & match up the temps to the correct sensors readings in OCCT.
It shows ALL of the temp reading so you have to choose the right ones for what they are for.
2 readings you will have to name them yourself (custom) for the mobo & dimm temp readings. In Speedfan those temps are Internal (mobo) & Temp 3 (memory).
Once that's all done it will show you the correct current realtime readings.
Also, when you set Max CPU Temp in OCCT this is the max temp it will go up to while testing.
IF, it goes over the temp you set there it will shut OCCT down so as not to go over the Max rated thermal for your processor
& potentially damaging it.

Edit: Ever since I change my OC to 3.46GHz (5 days ago) its been running ROCK SOLID in XP PRO SP3 & Vista Ultimate SP1 32bit!
No crashing during games & no file corruptions of any kind either!
So...the settings & voltages above are extremely stable for my system...BUT
Now the OC bug has faded away again I'm back to my OC with Default vcore so my system will have a long life.

Note: After the bios settings change I had Major Systems files corruption.
So keep that in mind with changing settings with memory timings & voltages.
This is yet another good reason to have a good backup system!!!
Because I have redundant backups I was able to set everything right within 10 minutes
using Acronis True Image.

Edit: Looks like this has nothing to do with the bios changes & more to do with the Mobo going out on me.
It's not dead yet, but it looks like it's on it's way out...RRR!

I'm still waiting for my radiator..

I was wondering, how far can u go on the NB/SB voltages? Does someone know if there is a chipset waterblock for this board or should the heatsinks do the job..?

1.650 is still in the safe range but pushing it a bit.
The heatsink that's on there is fine providing you have good airflow through your case. You can always put a fan on it too.
I have a 120mm fan mounted inside the case on the other side of the hard drives pointing at the RAM & NB to keep them cool.
In a water cooling rig is good to do that anyways as it pretty much cools everything down on the mobo!
Just take some nylon tie straps to hold it in place. You can even attach it to your water hoses going to the CPU
& position it to where it's blowing down on the NB/HS & RAM.
I never saw temps get above 85F & that was at 1.600v since I put the 120mm fan in there.

GTJ's answer on cooling the NB: For the MCH, if you have good airflow through the case you might not have to do anything more than replace the TIM.
(I never replaced the TIM on the NB & it still ran very cool @ 1.600v)

Remember that the MCH/ICH Voltage Override is the NB/SB voltage, not the Front Side Bus Voltage Override.

While you got the waiting on the radiator, take the time to read this guide. There's a lot of info in there on this board
such as the question you just asked.

Ok ty.
I'm still waiting for the radiator to arrive.. >.<

Before I start pushing my system harder, I would like to do a clean install, with al the drivers & progs I need, and then take a backup. I was wondering, is there a way to create a "custum vista cd" that installs all my drivers and progs automaticly when reinstalling windows?

Lets say windows doesn't boot anymore, how can u restore with acronis then?

Creating a "Custom" Vista OS installation DVD is easy using the right programs. (I already tested this & it works perfectly)
For Vista you use vLite 1.2 Final to slipstream them into the installation package. You can put SP1 & all your drivers into the installation DVD!
The program's interface if very good & easy to understand what to do as it leads you through the steps. I didn't even read the instructions & was
able to make a perfect custom Vista Ultimate SP1 Installation DVD with all my drivers included! (But normally I just install my Acronis backup images for recovery)
Download for vLite 1.2.

Yes, Acronis makes a bootable Media Rescue disk (Burn to a CD) that lets you access your Acronis backup archives even when your system will no longer boot into the OS! Yet another reason why I love Acronis True Image so much!!! A real life saver...

Finally, My extra radiator is installed ^^
I'm running @ 3.1 ghz (0.7 ghz overclock) with max stress temps of 48C.

So now I can start pushing a little higher, I'd like to run stable @ 3.4 ghz (1 ghz overclock) or more Hope that will work ^^

Edit: Seems like it's stable on 3.4 ghz, idle temps are 28C, stress temps 50C-52C

Host Clock Frequency: 378 (42% overclock)
Vcore: 1.4000v with Enhanced Powerslope Enabled
Front Side Bus Voltage Override: 1.350v
MCH/ICH Voltage Override: 1.575v
Memory: 5-5-5-15 @ 2.12v
Memory frequency: 667 @ 945Mhz

Good, looks like your temps are running nice & cool & I'm glad we were able to help you out to get there!
Feels good don't it?

Yes idd
It needed a litlle more voltage on the MCH/ICH than I thought though, now running on 1.425 vcore, 1.375 fsb, 1.600 MCH/ICH & 2.20 on the ram.
Stressed for 10 hours with OCCT & it's stable.

The cpu temps are ok, but do you think I can/should go higher with the MCH/ICH & fsb voltages? I mounted an 120mm fan on my GC, so it's pointed on the NB-heatsink.

Do you think it's possible to hit the 400fsb with the D975XBX2?

It "might" be possible to get it to go to 400 FSB, but I think the voltage it's going to require will be damaging voltage to where the board won't last too long.
Like maybe & year or two at best.

1.675 is as high as I've seen the MCH/ICH on an OC & I think that was 3.6 with the Q6600 too.

But honestly, I really don't know if your setup will go any faster or not! It will be up to you how much voltage you are willing to give it.
If you don't care about the board dieing then go for it...

Talking Kudos Muffin, here's what I've been able to do...

First I want to say thanks to Muffin for giving the details that got me started.

I have built a video render station around this board because it was what I can afford right now.

Here are the specs of what I am working with right now with:

Q6600 on Air in the Intel D975XBX2 board
I boot up with the Intel Matrix raid running 4 500 Gb drives in Raid 0 into Win7 RC 64bit.

I have done the 1st wave of tweaking that Muffin outlined. I am rendering out a segment to test out the settings.
I am using the newest Bios as well.

What else, ummmm,

Everything is inside an Antec Nine Hundred powerd by a Corsair TX650W PSU, the Vid Card is a Zotac GeForce 8800GT amp Edition with 512 mb GDDR3 Mem. The Vid Card comes OC'd. I chose this because I can soft mod it to a NVidia Quadro.

With this board, the Intel D975XBX2, installing Windows 7 RC, (which I just downloaded 4 days ago) had a few problems. I already had my raid setup and all that, I was using a SATA DVD drive on the Marvel bus. It recognized it, booted into the install but halted after asking for unknown drivers for the DVD drive. Simple solution is to use a IDE DVD drive and it worked easy as pie.

I used vLite to produce the image of Win7 I am using right now. (Win7 RC 7100 64bit)

I haven't used Acronis before, but I have used Macrium and will probably use it now because it allows me to create an image from the Raid.
