Guess we have to wait to see how SLI/Crossfire is supported. Also, what's with the three PCIe 16x sockets? From what I've seen, the third slot is limited to 4x.

One other thing - why are they still installing 1394a (Firewire 400)? What's wrong with 1394b (Firewire 800)? Putting 1394a on a board is a bit like only supporting USB 1.1!

Get the impression many of the vendors are seeing firewire in general as an outdated technology that people don't use much any more. I remember buying a standalone PCI firewire card for my Duron to work with the MiniDV camcorder I bought, but since then I've not had a single use for firewire.

Comparing specs and potential of I5 vs AMD offerings, AMD will have a solid player in the mainstream market, especially considering the price point AMD is able to maintain.
