I'm confused, that's for sure. Perhaps some with more knowledge will explain!

THG: AMD suckeths, look at this nifty fast 3.6GHz P4 we have here.

Hothardware: Thats not really a 3.6GHz P4, cause of X, Y, and Z.

Personally I don't care if the 3.6GHz P4 is real or not, Intel does not currently manufacture such a CPU, so any comparisons you draw between it and AMD's current CPUs(overclocked or not) is just bogus. Intel will not be manufacturing a 3.6GHz P4 for another 9 to 12 months according to leaked roadmaps, AMD is going to have new and fast stuff too by then.

Just FYI: Some sources are saying the P4 design runs in to trouble at greater than 3.2GHz on a 130nm process because of the double speed addition execution, Intel's road maps seem to back this up considering they won't move beyond 3.2GHz until they move to a 90nm process. It'll be interesting to see what kind of a possition Intel will be in to counter hammer.

That was amusing.
OH, and the CPUs peaked my interest too.

I frankly don't know. Tom's Hardware has flat out lied in the past. Yet it published some news (the 1.13 Ghz PIII comes to mind) that certainly put Intel in a very bad light. I rarely visit his site anymore, if this is from mistrust or something else, I don't really know.

As to Hot Hardware, I don't know their reputation for veracity.

While many smaller hardware review sites are unabashed AMD boosters, some of the big sites just can't seem to stop worshipping the excreta that fall from the world's largest silicon cloaca. I don't know if it's fair to peg Tom's Hardware as a worshipper of Satan Clara.

And yet again, this may simply be a publicity stunt to drum up interest in yet another high speed, underperforming, overpriced nugget from what I call, SwIntel. It's not too hard to print a retraction.

Yes, thank you, Jeff. This has been an exploration of learning to me. I have much to gain in all this, just a babe.
