hi guys, I was looking for a socket 478 motherboard, preferably cheap which supports hypertheading and 800mhz/FSB and has Excellent or Good overclocking features, such that I can get my cpu (2.6c Northwood core) to 3.06~3.5. And which can handle ocing with OKAY ram. thanks

Well im running an Asus P4S800-MX motherboard which supports 800mhz FSB and i overclocked my CeleD 2.4 to 3.6ghz just by changing an option in the bios. IT cost my around $64(AUD).

Abit VT-7
I bought my board at micro center for $60.00 and haven't had one problem with it. Very stable at moderate OC.For the money you can't beat it. You should invest a little more and get a 775 board though. Either that or an AMD 939. I have to stand by this board though because it's been good to me. It does everything I ask it to do.

It was refreshing after all decent m'boards cost $100 and up to have new entries into the market. In turn, the big makers added lower cost mainboards to their offerings. Yay!

What I have.....

Although It says Prescott and Celeron, it supports Northwood cores.
I have a 2.6 and have had it with a thermaltake xazer 11 and AS5 to 3.3 and idle at 35C full load around 44C.

Might be a few extra bucks, but its a quality board and a great overclocker.
