i am buliding a computer for my brother and i i cant decide what cpu to put in it these are the one i am looking at for him

q6600

the rig will be used mainly for gaming

we are using the p5n-e sli mobo

we have not decided on gfx cards yet he is still working how much to spend on them

The Q8200 all the way. It has a 1333mhz fsb. Which is somewhat faster than the Q6600 which only has 1066mhz.

I'd go with the Q6600. Larger cache, higher clock speed and with the 9X multiplier overclocking would be much easier on the P5N.

Most of the games I play these days seem to like clock speeds of 3.0 or better when cranking up the graphics, not something that would be easy with the Q8200.
