Oh lol that was fast. I had to dld the ISO which took 5 min (approx 700mb) then it took 2 min to install Ubuntu on the 2GB pendrive and now I am in ubuntu. This was the one time when "installing" an OS took 2 minutes. Let's see if I can have some fun with it.

I have a 2GB SD card FAT32 what do I need to do in order to have it used as cache or something by the system?

Can't really do anything because of the 0 space available after the OS startsup. Would Linux accept a 5GB partition on the HDD? How do I assign that partition?

when you created the USB drive did pendrivelinux allow you to set persistance?
There may not be enough room on a 2Gig Flash Drive.
I used a 4 Gig. Those suckers are under $5 at Walmart, so go pick one up.
The persistance allows you to update via internet.
Its not required but really helped my issues on the Gigabyte motherboard.

Thanks for the encouragement guys!

I redone the pendrive allocating 1GB for saved data and it's working.

1. How do I install some drivers for the intel 950GMA video
2. How do I make the microphone to work in skype? it only picks up the line in as input device :\ eventually how do I install some sound driver?

Have you looked in "System Settings > System tools > sound to make sure your setup properly? Unbuntu should have installed quite workable drivers at install, but doesn't always confingue your settings properly for you.

They ship with the OS, so you already have the driver installed.

With all the language packs and packages Mint 13 needed to update, I easily needed at least an extra Gigabyte of space.
You can choose to NOT update language packs, but you have to manually click ever single one of them.
Its annoying too, but I go ahead and let them download.

I'll have to do some research with Ubuntu and Intel graphics drivers. Right now you are using the default nouveau drivers that come with Linux. Those will work pretty good, even with some older games, but its better to have the proprietary drivers installed.
Specially with your video card.

As for skype and microphone... I havn't played with those yet. Honestly I don't even use them at all, but my wife does Skype with her parents on our laptop, so if I wanted to use Linux on it as well, then I'll have to learn to get Skype running in Mint 13 too.
