Linux gaming live distro

A new(ish) gaming distro. Burn it to optical media or install it to a USB drive, then boot it. It has a fairly long list of games pre-installed. I do not know most of them but it does have Nexuiz and Tremulous which are well-knows fps games (1st person shooters).

I have not tried it out as yet, but might do as soon as I get some time. We should keep an eye on it and see where it goes.

You don't need a drive. It is a live distro. It boots from the media it's on, so it changes nothing on your hard drive. I suppose it would be a way to compare performance of the hardware on different computers.

As I said, I have not tried it, so MMV.

I like this... pre-mature, but it would be pretty cool to have a portable gaming distro where I can run/install games and play on any computer.
I wonder how they will handle drivers?

If I install GeForce 550 Ti drivers in the distro and then go to my other computer with GeForce 8800... will the drivers work?

I remember that most of the Nvidia video drivers do support multiple cards, so there is a possibility the driver WILL work... but not with ATI cards

I'm taking a guess, but I'm fairly sure it would be using the open-source Nouveau drivers. I'm quite doubtful that they could actually package and include the closed-source drivers for legal reasons.

Agreed, but we can still download and install the GeForce drivers ourselves...
I'll have to try it out.
The list of games isn't HUGE by any means, but if you include flash games and facebook, there are plenty of game to play on the portable Linux Live

You'd have to do that every time you boot the live distro, and that would be a drag. Unless there's an installer which would install the distro to your hard drive, which I'm not sure of.

Kind of defeats the purpose of a portable distro, though.
