what about keyboard and mouse? I'm guessing those work, but you prefer the joystick.

Remember PlayOnLinux uses Wine to play games. So anything they post on WineHQ relates to us too.

One thing I noticed is in your Configure - Display:
Set DirectDrawRenderer: opengl
RenderTargetLockMode: readtex

I leave it at default as I don't know what it does.":O}

This is what the Wine Wiki says... not totally sure what it means... probably for your video card and how it renders.

RenderTargetLockMode:
Selects which mode is used for mapping onscreen render targets.

• disabled - Effectively disables render target locking
• readdraw - Uses glReadPixels for reading, glDrawPixels for writing
• readtex - Reading with glReadPixels, writing by drawing a textured quad (default)

Hot dang! It looks as if Homeworld works in PlayOnLinux! I fired it up and played the tutorial some. Seems to work like it should.
I did nothing in PlayOnLinux except point and click.

Homeworld Catatclysm crashed. Maybe work on it some later. I'm sad about that.

An update. Homeworld Cataclysm worked. I reinstalled and used the most current game patch. 101. I again ran the game and it crashed. But I clicked on the debug button. The results list I did not understand and a lot of faults were listed. But maybe the debug or restart of the game allowed it to be played. I'm glad of that.

POL Debug is the first debug I've ever known that will actually DO something. I had the same thing happen with another game that wouldn't run...I hit Debug and it RAN! ":O}

I may declare Linux Mint 15 a gaming OS. So far, it suits me.
I got Steam, Desura, and some of my old games running.
I hope someone comes up with a good RTS Sci-Fi game.

The first Dawn of War so far does not. Part of the problem may related to multiple cd install.

I will have to try Dark Crusade again. It crashed on a saved game. It may be in part due to some changes I made in PlayOnLinux.

I didn't play Dark Crusade for very long, but it did work fine.
Make sure to follow the same steps for Dawn of War.

Most PC Games will save the "debug" in a file on the computer.
Usually in the Game folder. Then you have to go find it and open it.

PlayOnLinux does an awesome job because it prints out the command line while you run stuff.
Its hard to read with "fix me" all over the place, but if you look for ".dll" or other errors, it can help you.
