Thank you ma'am.

I must say I have had my feelings hurt by this thing's benchmarking display saying my 2.6Ghz Athlon 64 machine is 76% as good as a Pentium 4 1.5Ghz machine.

I have it on 1 laptop, and intend to put it on the other lappy, and 3 or 4 desktops, but does it do the disable when on battery option for laptops that F@H does?

Also, is their a way to throttle the program's CPU usage like in folding?

I have this 1.6Ghz Centrino sitting on my lap at the moment, and the lap is getting a bit on the toasty side. I would like to bring it down to a more reasonable level, and not burn up my chances of having children.

I found this-
Quote:
I was worried about the same thing, hurting the CPU. The fan was running a lot. I have an IBM think pad, and finally remembered that you can set the power usage scheme. There is something on this scheme that allows you to choose the cpu speed. You can set it to either maximum, medium, slow, or very slow. When I set it to slow, the fan cut off, so it was not getting as hot. So it did make a difference. Maybe medium is enough though, I don't know.

On mine, to get to this screen, you just double click on the battery at the lower right of the screen, and the power usage screen pops up, allowing you to choose a new power usage scheme, or create a new one. Maybe your laptop has a similar feature
and
this thread.
Hope that helps.
