Sorry Ive given up to on my pride and joy main system, it simply puts far to much stress on all componets for my liking, over time I might put it on some other one but never on my pride possesion sorry

especially as im back on air cooling atm and my temps raise from 34 to 60, its simply no good sorry

Sorry to hear that. I've been running DC projects on air with mainly stock cooling, since 2001 on several different towers and have seen temps of 60c. I've never lost a cpu yet.

I'm curious what cpu you're running?

Edit.. I see.. the Opteron.

But Daniel, my towers run the same temps on F@H, if not a little higher.

When I run all towers on F@H, it's like steam bath in here.

But I don't blame Brad for not wanting to risk his Opteron.

I don't understand what is making your machines heat up so much. I am also on aircooling, oc'ed only 5 percent, but not seeing a temp over 96F yet after running f@h AND WCG on hyperthread.Granted, I have 6 fans in my case, but I haven't seen this p4 heat up yet. Backed off the overclock to 5% just for safety, and haven't had time to really sit and play with it. Have to do that some day, soon.

I'm on aircooling and my rig doesn't get any hotter at all. I have absolutely no stability issues either! In fact I've even games whilst running it and it's been fine.

I kicked it up to 20% oc (2.88gHz) last night, let f@h and wcg run, and it only got up to 107 deg (41C), the fans sped up about 500rpm only and it run ok except firefox got errors trying to print. oc'ed 10 % (2.64 gHz) now and very stable. 38C/100F and has been on for 6 hours now without a problem.
