FTP server and downloading issues

I've had numerous issues with people downloading files, especially larger ones, that seem to stop about 80-99% complete, then won't continue if they cancel and try to start the download again.

I originally thought it was the directory browsing with IIS 4.0 (with W2K) or 5.0 (with XP Pro) but now the FTP is exhibiting the same issues.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there a time out feature that is causing downloads to be terminated or conenctions dropped?

This used to happen to me very often. Didn't matter if I was DLing from an ftp or http site. Being on dial-up sure didn't help. There are a number of DL "manager" progs that will let you resume a DL if it's interrupted, but maybe that's only for http sites, and some of them have spyware in them, too. The Opera browser has a DL manager built-in to it. Lemme see if it's any good for your ftp site.

I'm ignorant about setting up Web sites to serve files. My bad. Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and learn how to do this with Linux!

Edit. Looks like you're working on your ftp site, Pinky. I'll try later.

I downloaded like all of your overclocking files, about 500mb, without a hitch Pinky. Just thought I'd say that
