Thats about right for a 56k, the most I could ever get was 52kbps and even then it would only download at 5-6kb/s

i should be getting a free upgrade to 2mbit last month!
and when bt roll out adslmax, i'll be upped to 4mbit for nowt. aint bad considering i'm paying for 1mbit atm (my isp are 4x all connections downstream soon ...)
i'm tempted to go into uni and do some benchmark ownage since there is next to nobody using the connection

8Mbit ADSL1 is available in almost all urban areas of Australia at the moment mate. Its just that you live in a regional area. Blame Telstra. lol.

NTL World have boosted me to 2mbit

Actual Speed
Downstream 1888 Kbps (236.0 KB/sec)
Upstream 183 Kbps (22.9 KB/sec)

True Speed (estimated)
Downstream 2039 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 197 Kbps (inc. overheads)

The upload for NTL is what ever they fill like on that date.
Who else has NTL 2mbit, would be intresting to see there speeds.
