cell style bluetooth functionality for land lines ?

has anyone ever seen a system to integrate cell phone blue tooth headsets into a regular phone system? I have a customer with a Saab repiar shop that would like to be able to use one in the shop, with the voice dialing and such. TIA!

To do so would require a bluetooth access point capable of handling voice dialling and some kind of interface to the PBX. Remember that many Bluetooth headsets are limited to 10m range in the clear. Large metal objects can easily block signals, dropping the range.

Also be aware that some cellphone bluetooth headsets can only 'pair' with a single device at a time. If he is thinking about using the headsets with both the PBX and a cell phone, then this might cause issues. There are some Bluetooth headsets that are specifically designed to be able to pair with several different devices however.

As far as voice dialling goes, the headset does not actually handle the voice dialling. Depending on how the PBX works, it may require an additional module for the PBX. Does the PBX use a regular analog line for the handsets or are the handsets propriatory digital?

right now he's on an analog PBX line. is there a wireless phone system that will provide similar functionality without using blutooth, or installing a high dollar Praxton type box?

I can find devices that will interface a bluetooth headset to a standard phone with no problems - Plantronics do some for example.

However, the voice dialling is reliant on the phone system, not the bluetooth headset. That part I've not seen a solution for!
