BEFSR41 (?) by Linksys has been a workhorse for me for the last 18months. Costs under $100 now. Lot's of newer models out there, too.

I got a great deal on a Dlink 704 router from amazon a while back...

Had all those features, was very sweet for $90 - $30 rebate

I'm in full agreement... great features, easy to configure, and cheap. I've had mine for a year now.

Netgear rt314. Period ease of setup with browser and a full load of features you may never need but are great to have in the console. Been gaming on mine for about a year and never had a problem. For awhile i had my game server behind it. I have installed about 20 of them and never had a single bad one. There are some newer versions out that i havent tried yet. It really reminds me of the bay networks router we had at the internet provider i worked at a while back. Pbbly because Netgear is a child of Bay Networks.

Netgrear RT 314, one can hardly call it "Ease of use" as once setup, you can forget it... compleatly transparent!

But as others point out it's a bit long in the tooth and the newer modles may offer something more...can't think what! ":O}

Well, I ended up buying a Netgear RP114, which is supposed to be the replacement for the RT314 (try finding it on the web, they stopped making them).

Yea they are hard to find i only found them on the netgear store. I think the RO318 is the replacement for it. The 318 also has stateful packet inspection.

Hmm. I wonder. I stated the RP114 was the replacement for it because that's what their sales rep said, but he could of lied too.

I've had my rt314 by netgear for over a year, and it's worked for me so far.

I kinda like the RP114 now. I like these features:

- Parental control of web browsing
- Auditing and e-mail reporting of web browsing activities

Plus, it's so small. (Less clutter on my desk)

that's the next generation version of the rt314, so it should be good.
