Acer Aspire 3628AWXCI – There Ain't No Cheaper?

Acer is one of the largest Asian manufacturers of computers and components, including notebooks. Acer is now actively expanding practically to all world markets, including the European and Russian ones.

Home users are unorganized beings, they easily yield to a simple temptation 'Oh! A notebook for just $700! I'll take it!' Let's try to find out what a user gets for this money and whether you should pay extra money for more expensive models.

Cool deal.

Is there a link to "the rest of the story"?

I have seen Acer computers on Newegg for some time. Very cheap machines. Great for the Average home user.

I've been looking for a cheap-ish laptop now, but I really want one with a decent amount of battery life.

And, I'm sorry, but the specs on that Acer machine are not impressive. =( I've seen Dell laptops at £250/£270 with better specs.

-waits for all the Dell jokes to flood in-

My Acer was £300 second hand. It has a far, FAR better spec then that...
But, for a new price of £300 I am impressed. And I'm not sure what your talking about Dells...
The cheapest Dell laptop is £50 more and has an ancient Celeron. It also has a smaller hard drive. It's also very ugly.
