Cell phones, How do you actually use yours?

My wife just got our first cell phone...from work. Camera, text mess., Voice Message service and lot's of stuff that the inventor seems to have forgotten what it does!

So practically speaking, how many of these features do you actually find useful?

By the way anyone know where the bees went? Have you missed them yet? Let me now what you've heard about the bees please.

I use mine as an alarm clock and scheduale reminder, sometimes people call me as well.

Oh and I take photo's of my teeth to see if I've any food stuck in them.

I use mine to call people, and to be called, and I did used to use SMS, till my phone decided it couldn't send them anymore.

I also do use the camera occasionally, but my infra red link is duff so I can't send the pics I take anywhere!

Mine is strictly for phone calls. The data service in this area is too expensive for me to be able to justify the Internet features. I AM looking at buying a combo PDA/cellphone though.

BTW, I wasn't joking about the bees. I'd like to know if you've seen any this year. Some are saying we are destroying (RAPIDLY) the hives with our Cell phones.

No Bees, no food, no AOA. As you can see this is of personal concern to me...it may effect you as well. I know! If you see a Bee phone me!":O}

Any research on this would bee appreciated.

BTW2, This can pay off for you! While I was outside looking for Bees yesterday I saw Not one but TWO ( A mated pair) Golden Eagles soaring. I sat down and watched for an hour, neither folded wing a single time, they circled the thermals separately it was a half hour before I saw the second, then I watched how they divided up their territory, their circles borough then nearer and nearer until they meet where each circle touched the other, then, just as they met they change course together and flew away in a straight line... but no Bees yet, but it's still early in the years...but not that early!!

I've seen all kinds of bee/wasp type insects in the last month or more. Although, now that you mention it, not many honey bees. Are you referring to a particular type?

Just Honey Bees. Turns out they pollinate something like 98% of all our crops. In the US this is very fast becoming a major concern.
we transport honey Bees in to regions following the spring weather.

The hive Bees are just gone. often leaving a queen and a few deformed workers.

I always get big ass bee's in my room when the weather is warm. My room is south facing, and with the computer and my sweaty self it warms up quite a bit in my room, which seems to draw them in.

Too cold in this area to honey bees to survive the winter.

I have no data on this, so I'm mostly playing Devil's Advocate here, however, it occurs to me that there could be a myriad of explanations for the decline in honey bees, which have nothing to do with cell phones:
  • Loss of habitat
  • Interbreeding of domesticated and wild honey bees resulting in sterile offspring

Those are just two that spring to mind. Note that they still boil down to human interference.

my cell phone is just a calendar/memo taker/calculator/paperweight. and it's in chainmaille. my phone calling capabilities are non-existant due to no money for it. as for bees, i thought at first you were meaning you were missing the letter b on your keypad. but i had a confrontation with a few bees/waspy type insects. which ended up with them at the wrong end of my batleth i actually was using it to kill bees. one of them had the nerve to walk on my foot. the dastardly feind.

My phone is primarily used for calls, text messages, calendaring, web and email. It occasionally gets used for playing games and media streaming too.

My Mobile is the Samsung D900. Texts and Calls. Internet is pointless/too expensive as I'm always near a Computer...and when journeying I have my PSP.

WAP doesn't do good things to websites if you stuck with a device that only has a WAP browser. I find that there are a good number of occasions that I can only use 2.5/3G for internet access.
