"The motherboard installation section essentially said "refer to motherboard manual for installation instructions". My motherboard manual of course said "refer to case manual for further installation instructions"."

Don't you remember how slick the Razr was when first introduced. People were paying nearly $500 for them when they were first introduced. Now everybody seems to have a Razr and you can get them for free with a contract, but it was not always so.

Don't underestimate the power of the slick. Compared to the iPhone, the Razr looks like a piece of trash. One of the main draws of Apple's products have always been the intangible 'coolness' of them. Excellent industrial design and a GUI that's appealing to the eyes goes a long way.

Look a couple years down the line. Everybody's cell phone will have all of the iPhone's features and more. iPhones will be nearly free, and your neighbor's 14 year old daughter will have one or something just like it. I think that the iPhone is the start of something here in the US. I believe that it'll begin to bridge the gap between the traditional smartphone market and everybody else. We'll see where the market goes from there.

In terms of overall mobile phone ownership, 400,000 people is a small drop in the ocean.

Of course, there will be an initial rush for iPhones. But, once that's over, who else really wants one?

To me a phone, is just a phone. I dial a number and talk. An iPhone, or any other similar phone doesn't feature on my shopping list.

I don't know what mobile net access charges are like in the US, but I won't be paying out more money to access the net when I already have a connection at home. Why would I need to access YouTube when I am driving, or walking down the street?
