Asus' Eee PC 1000 40G netbook Tech Report evaluate this unit for us: Just one year ago, there was no such thing as a netbook. The word simply didn't exist. I'm not surprised at all. I'm sure they were thinking it as soon as they thought up eepc's. $699 is getting steep.
