The lack of Java is hardly a problem, given how few websites bother to use it. The lack of Flash is perhaps more serious, but websites that only offer Flash fall foul of accessibility laws (IE, screenreaders can't cope with Flash), and thus shouldn't be a problem .

lack flash as annoyed me on my ipod touch too
