60GHz is about where oxygen absorbs RF well, meaning that the signal doesn't travel that well in the atmosphere. It's also very much line-of-sight, meaning you need to be able to see the transmitter to receive it.

It won't go through walls, and simply standing between the transmitter and receiver will attenuate the signal by a large amount. In fact, even furniture can cause areas of no signal.

For 60GHz to work in the home, you need to have some kind of access controller in each space that you want available access. In larger rooms, or rooms divided by furniture, multiple access controllers will be required.
