Wow, Apple have finally caught up with 13 year old mobile devices that could manage multitasking well, and they ran on a pair of AA batteries too.

Am I reading this correctly too - that the "multitasking" may not be full multitasking, but only aspects that Apple say are ok to multitask?

The answer to that question appears to be a yes then. Apparently "Apple's multitasking is a combination of background processing and quick app switching.", which suggests that it's not full multitasking - applications aren't able to do whatever when they're in the background, only what Apple sanctions.

Can you imagine how many law suites there would be if MS pulled a stunt like this.

Apart from the no *nix support, this is yet another reason why I wont own an iPhone or iTouch.
