Please don't take a US stat and make it apply to the rest of the world.

Looking at smartphones globally, and the stats make Android look much more popular.

Using IDC's worldwide mobile phone tracker for Q1 2012, and Android is sitting at 59%, iOS at 23%, Symbian at 6.8%, BlackBerry at 6.4%, Windows at 2.2%

Using Gartner's analysis for Q1 2012, and Android is sitting at 56.1%, iOS at 22.9%, Symbian at 8.6%, BlackBerry at 6.9%, Windows at 1.9%

It's getting to where one has to be a professional consumer to even begin to make intelligent choices in hardware. But maybe I'm making to much of this...?

Smartphones are separated by a range of operating systems, handsets and carrier support because they are not like open platforms such as the Internet.

Speaking of phones, I just picked up an LG Connect 4G. I had to get one for work, nice thing is work is paying for MOST of my monthly payment on it. (I'm only out of pocket $10 a month and the price of the phone)

So far I'm liking the phone, read some reviews on it and people seem to love it, minus the bad battery life. (but there are apps that help I've read)
So we'll see after using it for a couple of weeks. If ya want my new number.... just ask.

You might find a higher capacity battery on eBay.
