I Would like your opinion about replacing my 120gb hdd with a ssd hdd Samsung 64gb 830 series. Would it make a difference in speed, I use the laptop for working with photos, cheers

I would be faster, much Faster, unless you can run SATA III, then it will be much much faster.

If you can spare the loss of HD space, go for it, it's fun! It's like comparing RAM to Hard-drive speeds. there is no comparison.

My Corsairs have all been rocks! I have it on good authority ( Gizmo) that the break in period for these drives is well over. They are a mature product that should last quite well.

The ONLY downsides I've come across are Pricing and having to accept a smaller drive at the same price point.

I went for corsair because of my experiences with their RAM... I have no real Idea as to who if anyone makes the best SSDs.

As your a lappy boy...":O}

You should see some real reduction in heat running SSD... I don't know that...But it would stand to reason...yes?

Looks good...but I don't know what "stand alone" means in this context...?

Get some HD benches together and bench your current drive, then when the new one comes same same....then compaire....then laugh and laugh until the people around you begin to notice and move away...then quite. Before there's trouble.
