I do not find this deal...a deal at all. This is a very regular price for a 3800+ over here and supposedly I live in a more expensive country than UK. Most shops sell the boxed version of the 3800+ for 130-140 euro here, that's 80-90 pounds or so.

All prices of AMD chips will fall. The AM2 socket prices where cut down and will be cut down again soon and the socket 939 prices are following after them.

That's better than OCUK, the ones i thought had the cheapest in the UK. But how about this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...aCP_2d120_2dAM

4000+ OEM San Diego for £93.94 inc VAT! Allow about another £5 for delivery and you've got a bargain!

That's pretty sweet but it would be nice to go dual-core.

Quite what your expecting to be a deal then I fail to see. Here you have a dual core, modern and very powerful CPU selling for £88.
Under a year ago, I paid £120 for my Venice 3000, which at that time was hardly the most powerful CPU - back then you paid £120 for a bottom of the range CPU!
Yet the 3800 is only less powerful then a handful of AMDs other CPUs - yet it's sellnig for £88!

Personally I think it's a great offer, for the UK .

I see you logic. Yet you cannot call a deal a price which all stores will soon follow. Neither compare with last year's prices. By this logic, next year the 3800+ will be extinct and you will be able to get a much better processor for the money.

There are no deals when it comes to technology I'm afraid. Only marketing and a system which makes you 'need' to upgrade every 2 months in order not to be outdated.

Which makes the 88 pounds offer for the 3800+ not bad at all, but I wonder how much the new Allendale's with the 200MHz BUS will cost...
