| There is a company saying the eBay is infringing on their copyright by using Buy It Now.

| Says they have been awarded $25m in compensation from eBay. I don't think either party should be able to patent such simple and obvious ideas. Amazon also have a patent on their "buy now" button. Would make life easier for all of us, if all online shops had the "buy with one click" feature.

| Google has been in a similar situation with Gmail, which is why it's now called Google Mail. I don't knwo is they paid out money, but sometimes these things are settled out of court, in private.
