Highpoint 2.32 wont flash

hi i have a Chaintech ATA100R (Highpoint 370a) addon pci card
the problem is that it uses a flash chip that no other highpoint addon card maker uses (SST MPF)(looks like the one ususally on nvidia gfx cards)

so to flash it i have to use some ancient flasher from chaintech

version 1.13 from highpoint customized by chaintech to work on the SST MPF

every bios update upto and including 2.0.1019
upgrades fine

but after that highpoint must have changed the identifier in the bios to report it was a 370 or 372 (i suspect all bios's before that where reporting as 366's or 368's)

which causes the 1.13 bios flasher to bomb reporting

This bios is for 370

and refuses to flash

and the flasher that comes with all highpoint official bios's refuses to pickup my flash chip

anyway the reason i post i have been trying to either find a string in the bios that reports its chipset id or force the flash program to ignore the message and flash it anyway

but im not very skilled with a hex editor

is there anyone out there that fancy's a challenge?

i have ziped up
the chaintech flasher a copy of the 2.0.1019 bios that works with the flasher, and a copy of the latest 2.32 bios that refuses to work with the flasher

Here

http://www.shonk.eu.org/chaintech.zip

if anyone fancy's helping

cheers

Hi

I’ve flash this controller with 2.34 bios but something goes wrong and now it’s dead. Card is detected as Mass Storage Device but flasher can’t see it. Uniflash doesn’t work either. Is there some way to reanimate it?

You mean J1 jumper (HDD LED)? Unfortunately this isn’t working.

Here’s a link to load v1.14 that works whit new bios versions: http://ftp.isu.edu.tw/pub/Hardware/A...ro/load114.exe
It’s untested.
