| XP wont install Im trying to install xp on a machine that I installed a new hard drive on. the formating software the hd came with sucked and screwed up my computer royaly. So i figured I would just re-install XP. but now when I try to install it, it freezes up at the same point every time. I have no idea what to do, Im thinking I'll try installing xp on the old hard drive to see if that is the problem. this ever happen to anyone else? Also, does anyone know of a good free formating tool that will run off a floppy?

| ok, got it working. Im on a fresh install of windows XP Pro. off to windows update I go!!

| This file is a Win 98SE Boot disk and has a good Fdisk and Format utility, although XP has it's own that works fine. Glad you got it up and working.
