pds files ?????

I'm trying to open up a .pds file (no, not .pdf). Anybody know what it is and what I need to open it? Adobe Acrobat Reader won't do it. The file is a real estate appraisal - likely it includes photos. Tks!

Is it a large file? If so, it's almost definately a Photoshop file. If you don't have a copy of photoshop, I can convert it to another format. However, the process of conversion would require me to see the image(!), so don't do this unless it's not sensitive in any way!

Thanks to both of you. I'll first try to download a tryout of Photoshop and see what happens.

In this case, PDS is a propriatory format used by a program called "lighthouse". It's basically a way of wrapping up all the information about real estate into a single file.

There *IS* a free viewer for it, but it weighs in at 35.5MB(!!!). It's available from www.aciweb.com

GOT IT!

Downloading the reader wasn't too bad, and it was just the thing I needed. Thanks again, Aedan

That mortgage co service rep forwarded it to me in a real hurry @ end of their busiest month ever. Mine was already a closed deal (low documentation streamline re-fi). To save time and cost, they don't provide copy to client without request. But DAAAAAYM! That's about the only interesting reading in all that paperwork. I wanna see what that $400 fee produced!

Sorta strange, having made a new 30-year commitment without knowing yet what our current equity in the property is....off I go for a peek!

Hi patti, my wife and I just did a remortgage, 5.375% -no points! In my neck of the woods if you still have 20% EQUITY you don't have to purchase PMI(Private Mortgage Insurance about $50.00 a month). With this new interest rate I'll be paid in 17 years instead of the 25 years I had remaining on the old mortgage (7.125%) at the same payment. Wait a minute , isn't this the ReMax forum?? Sorry. Good luck.
