AMI BIOS. Too scared to flash it?

I guess that Award BIOS's spoil you. I'd rather buy a new ECS K7S6A than mess with my ECS K7S5A's BIOS. I have Rev 1 of the K7S5A, so XP's and Morgan-cored Durons can't be used without a Bios update. I think anyway.

Anyone have better than Dutch courage to offer re: this BIOS issue?

Isn't flashing an AMI bios about the same as an Award??

A look at ECS's instructions simply discouraged me from attempting a flash. When you've flashed Award's BIOS's a few times, you get a bit comfortable. The process with an AMI BIOS seems...weird, at least to me.

Just do it! (Nike, please dont sue me)

as long as you dont turn your PC off or let it restart if you screw up, you're ok!

Bah, ye wee little sissy man! Jus' grab yerself by the mcguinees, and get flashin'!

Just like any other flash. The interface is different is all. Get familiar with it, and be sure to back your BIOS up.

I found that printing out the instructions did wonders for my confidence, and yeah I had a bit of the shakes the first time":O}

That's a good suggestion, Daniel ~. Thanks. I did that for Award's BIOS, long ago. The hassle is that the instructions given on OCWorkbench.com are different than ECS's.
