| Installing WIndows....question... Can you install windows to a drive that already has infromation on it without losing the info? i's like to put a bootable copy of XP on a back-up drive, as the main drive is going to go soon...Western digitals always seem to die roght before, or right after the warranty expires.

| Yes, you can. I have done it several times. If there is already an installation of windows on there, you will need to install in a different directory, though, or you may screw some stuff up by importing the old registry settings.

| i never tried and i just wanted to hear from some who has done it before... i've always jsut formatted and installed, since i use very little on a day to day basis, and replacing a registry is to archane for me.
