Program to modify a *.LIB file?

Program to modify a *.LIB file?

Hey guys, I just got my granddaughter a new Dell with Win XP on it. We have some old games that are ment for win 95. When we try to install them I get a message that 2 .DLL files are missing from the SETUP.LIB file. I check the CD-ROM and the "missing" files are in the root directory of the CD-ROM.

Is there a program that will allow me to open the SETUP.LIB file, add the 2 DLL files to it, then recompile it? Niether WinZip, nor Winrar will do it.

If it is a standard cab file format, you can use compress. If it is an InstallShield format, then you have to have InstallShield, and the original InstallShield project.

Thnx for the reply Gizmo (somehow I knew it would be you or Aedian who responded.) Sadly it is an instashilde project, so I guess we will just have to find updated versions of programs or learn to do without.

Funny though, These programs work fine on win98 and win98se, but give the same error for all 3 winXP machines I tried them on. So much for backward compatibility. Thank you Uncle Bill, upgrade your computer and take away your todlers favorite games.

Sigh. It's probably something really stupid inside InstallCrap then. It's full of stupid stuff.
