FreeBSD tends to be a lot more stable than Linux, and generally much more suitable for heavy duty serving. People like Yahoo, Simtel and Sony use FreeBSD. There's less choice in terms of hardware support, but what there is is generally tried and trusted.

Unix is unix, theres no reason why you wouldn't be able to use bsd if you can use linux, unless you only know how to do things with a certain distro and have never really gotten to know the command line very well. But you can still learn, pick up a book with a cover cd if you want to make it easier to learn. |
