loading nVidia drivers on Fedora 3

I just installed Fedora 3 on one of my machines, and wanted to load nVidia accelrated garphics drivers. I have downloaded the driver and attempte dto follow the install instructions, but it keeps telling me I have to turn of X server. Anyone know how to do this in Fedora? It seems that X loads BEFORE the login screen for this version of the OS. TIA!
