Firefox Problem

Hey I have a problem with firefox (XP). when I open a site with a lot of pictures on it it will kinda stall for a few seconds about fice seconds afeter I open the page. During the stall nothing in firefox that I click happens. I beleive I have had this problem before but forgot what caused it. Any information would be greatly apriciated.

I think this is to do with specific sites and the same thing happens IE. It happens to me on experts exchange it won't repsond to anything for up to 15 seconds. Iv'e also come across a few other sites.

These sites are really bloated though and who ever made/maintains them need's to be slapped silly.

That is strange then......but some sites really do have this annoying problem with all browsers(just too much crap i guess).

Oh aslo one other thing that seems to be specific to Firefox but im not sur ehow to describe it. Images load quite differently as in not on the fly but you actually see them loading bit by bit though pretty quickly. And im on a 512/128k DSL.

EDIT: Could possibly be your system/connection slowing you down?

hi there Cerium, just reading your post there on the fire fox problem.......

Did you try the firefox hack thats posted here in the the FAQ section.

make your mozilla fire fox search faster

try that out and see if that helps....

have you got any plugins installed for the fireFox / ext.. If so tell me what ones

and what is the type of connection you have?

now if that dosent work....i know this sounds basic but did you go to the Tools => Options => Web features => make sure that the download images is ticked.

and also goto Tools => Options => privacy and then clean out your history and cookies etc.

Now if that dosent work then i would suggest that you take a look at your network settings for your cablemodem and see if there up to scratch (100mbps) / (Gig lan)
not (10mbps) etc

also if you can goto the download site and redownload the firefox install file and fully uninstall your old firefox files.
