explorer static position

how can i get windows explorer to stay at one fixed position forever?

everytime i open windows explorer it cascades to some location. then i'd go to tile windows vertically and resize to the way i like it. however almost all the time it reverts back to the cascading size and different position.

i just did a search for explorer.ini and its not found in xp pro to see maybe that specifies a position.

yes, I agree about Firefox, and since I 'm using that I have a lot less spyware/adware/trojans getting in AND they got a pop-up-stopper before IE6 SP2 got it !!!

by the way, Firefox is at version 1.0.3 now ...

Just make the switch over to Firefox my friend, it's well worth it.

I think he's asking about windows explorer rather than IE - after all, every sane person has already made the move to Firefox

normally, a window keeps the last setting when the last window of that kind is closed; if you have 1 windows explorer window open and you click on the rectangle button (top right) and then shut down explorer (X button), it should open as a full-screen window again ...

guys...i've had FIREFOX since day one and even before that i had mozilla version whatever.

i'm talking about WINDOWS EXPLORER. not IE. IE is like the atomic bomb...one of those things we wish we never invented.

isn't there a setting under folder options "remember the last window position...or something?"

noorman...i've tried that and just about every combination. the most success i've had is getting it to the correct size and position exiting using file/close. that will open the same way for about 5 times and about the 6th time it'd show up in 640x480 at a random position.
