if anyone's running firefox, check out msn.com. it's very unfriendly to firefox users. you can't right click to open in tabs. the right click acts like a left click making the button more of like that of an imac.

i wonder if it's coded purposely because of it's ties to microsoft and IE.

tabbed browsing is supposedly a feature in the next IE so making it difficult to use in firefox might make all those lay people who have had firefox recomended by a friend siwtch for the sake of simplicity.

Don't kick me out but I work for Microsoft, well kind of, I'm on the help desk and we get alot of information on the reason behind some things, when people ask and I remember to ask the product managers. -Also I can't even get hold of windows 64 - so they do suck - only pay well.

MSN doesn't work well in Firefox because it is tied to MS
The reason why MSN and some other sites don't work is because they have been optimized for IE.
While Firefox is programmed to HTML standards IE is not - MS thinking it's better than everything and everyone again - So while IE can read HTML something optimised for IE wont work in almost anything else. - Another reason to change from a MS based OS

Download a copy of User Agent Switcher, and use that to set your user agent to Internet Explorer. That will change the browser type that Firefox reports to the MSN site, and the site will return pages without the offending code in it. It looks to be code that specifically designed to disable those menus when the web servers see a copy of Firefox.

In some cases where HTML is not correctly executed by IE, I think it is more a case of MS getting it wrong rather than doing their own thing by choice or because they know better.

IE is actually not coded to the HTML standard - I did ask why there was problems with running certain web pages with firefox - was told by MS tech at company meeting.
I am an avid user of firefox - even use it on the help desk at work
Most of us there don't like IE - MS are ****** (not very nice people)
Wish here was like Europe where you can get Windows LIGHT
doesn't come with all the "extras", better known as garbage
you pay the same but miss out on the goodies like IE, media player, messenger, and the like.
So I think the LIGHT version is actually worth more

the real reason is because of the law suites regarding freedom of choice

There have been examples where someone has taken a page from the MS site, and recoded it to be smaller, faster and more compatible with all browsers (including IE) and still looks and works the same. Currently MS has to produce two versions of every page, one for IE, and one for other browsers.
