Internet Connection Sharing how?

I need to set it up so my brother can access my internet from his computer but the windows wizards are useless and just say an error occured no matter what kind of network i try to setup.

Iv'e been sucessfull in setting up a network for gaming, i just manually assigned ip's to both computer's and this works fine.

EDIT: Im using Windows XP Home SP1 so is my brother and this connection is established through a router.

Technically, if the router is configured correctly, you should just get access to the internet by plugging the cat5 cable into the router and then into his computer. Are you saying that your computer is also connected to the router and is getting to the internet just fine?
