So it'll resume when at least one is online?

Well that depends on who joins if it's a seeder yes but if it's a leech who has nothing you need then no.

Bittorrent works by splitting the file up in to lots of small chunks, and the people downloading should also upload the small chunks. If there's no-one with the small chunks you need online, then you can't finish the download. When you close your bittorrent client, it means that the bits of the file you have are no longer available to anyone else.

OK, I didn't know s$#@ about bittorrent until now. So I am beggining to be very frustated. Vista is 85% on my computer. I only close the computer during the night. I am a seed also. what the hell is this seed thing. OK I think it's when you share you are a seed. OK. This day passed my rig was all day on and when I get back home from work there wasn't not even 1% more, so nothing has been downloaded. Do I have any chance to finish this download???

If I'm not wrong, you are only a seed when you have 100% of the file and you are no longer downloading it, just uploading.

It sounds like there are no seeds for your file/s so everything grinds to a halt at X%, until someone with all the files (a seed) starts sharing again you will be stuck there.
