software to do a straight bit copy of an mp3 hey guys, Im trying to see if there is any software out there that will allow me to do an edited version of an mp3 by doign a straight bit copy rather than recompressing it. i guess it would be kindof the equivalent of virtual dub, but for audio. the reason why i ask is i like to edit versions of live sets without loosing quality with recompression.

Not that I'm aware of. Why not just use the master copy before compression for editing?
