Linux w Netscape 4.07 vs. 98SE w IE 5.01 SP1(?) Bandwidth

Hi there, all. I discovered that SuSE 7.0 and Netscape (Grrr) clip 150 kbps off of the bandwidth I get with SE and IE 5.01. Not a good advertisement for Linux!

I'm surely doing something wrong in Linux. Any suggestions as to what I might have a look at? I'd appreciate even just one. Thank you!

Surely someone can point me in the right direction, please?

Don't use netscape?

Netscape under linux has so far completely failed to impress me in any manner. Try a copy of Mozilla instead, or another browser.

Thank you for your suggestion, AidanII! Question please, should I get rid of Netscape before installing Mozilla?

At this Linux machine there is both Netscape and Mozilla installed.

Mozilla is way faster than Netscape, at least in my end.

Thank you all for your answers! I've been avoiding Mozilla, but only 'cause I thought that having Netscape(which has improved steadily since AOHell bought it. Cough) on the same box might confuse the poor beast.

Well, Mozilla can use the bookmarks you have already set in Netscape, and I haven't seen any problems with having both installed at a time.

Good luck with it
