Which OS is better for gaming, WXP PRO or Home?

Does Mandrivia support game playing?

Personally I use XP Home, and I don't think it makes too much difference.

Mandrive is linux and will only let you play Linux compatable games, like the linux versions of Unreal Tournament or Doom 3

When XP first came out I read an article that stated XP home was a little better. Better being faster and more stable. After all the updates and SP2, I am not sure it matters anymore.

It matters very little in the realm of gaming. XP home may use a little less resources, but to the extent you wont notice.

if you can run W2k SP4, it uses alot less resources, and is faster than XP SP2.

Thanks for the tips guys. Never use W2K but looks like an interesting thing to do.

BTW most of my new toys has arrive. Will make and upgrade very soon. Only need for the psu to get here and up we go.

Which me luck.

Is this the W2K that you refer to? Does it support dualcore?

W2K is my favourite OS , however I had lot of problems running newer games on it and had to move over to XP.

I still think your better off with XP. 2K was great and still is for an office network environment. No frills and all business.

I too had a few issues with some newer games. That will probably happen to XP after Vista is out for a while.
