7900GT bios volt mod

Hey, I have been trying to flash my Evga 7900GT bios so the cards gets 1.4volts.

I save my stock bios, edit the bios, save it to the nvflash floppy disk I made. Try to flash the bios with the command nvflash volt.rom

Everytime no matter what I try it says gpu mismatch, and some id numbers mismatch. I cannot figur eout how to get around this?

edit - lol solved my self. Kept searching and found out how to use the commands in nvflash.

nvflash -5 -6 volt.rom

srry

actually I don't think it worked. I have to buy a multimeter to see. But from what i have read on other forums about this guide. It mainly doesn't work. I think my card is still at 1.2volts. So I think I need to unlock something else with the flash process.

I didn't get 1 more mhz

To see if the card actually flashed I am gonna change the stock clocks then flash with that bios.

My video card can run 540/885

I run the card at 540/860

I am going to change the stock clocks to 540/800

Then I beleive in riva tuner or coolbits the default clock rate should be what the bios says. brb

The 7900 series normally require a pencil/condutive ink mod.

The MonkeyMan speaks the truth. One way to tell if your getting a successful flash is to change the mem clock speed a little. You will see your new speed as the default. You still may not get the volts to change though.

This worked great on my 6800NU....
