Insufficient System Registry with nForce 5.10 drivers

I just ran into an interesting problem.

I had been playing with some audio recording software, and had the NVMixer application open, messing with the settings for the various input devices. I had it running for a while, making various adjustments, finished what I was doing, and went to bed, forgetting to shut down the application. I got up the next morning, had to go to work, so didn't look at my machine. Came home from work that night, had some other things to do, so didn't end up looking at my machine until about 10 p.m. that evening (meaning that the NVMixer had been running for about 26 hours).

Imagine my surprise when I see an error on my screen indicating that the System registry has reached its maximum size. I check the %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\System file and sure enough, the file is 128 MEG in size!

So I downloaded an application called NTRegOpt, let it clean my registry, and everything is golden again. But apparently, the NVMixer application in the 5.10 nForce driver set likes to write data to the system registry over and over. If it does this long enough, it will make your system registry grow beyond all reason. After cleaning up my system registry, it is now about 5 Meg.

This is good to know. I have moved away, finally, from my nf 2 board. My sister inherited it though. The only good drivers are the 5.10s.
