had that problem. Also duffed my internet usage at home, I was getting 160bps thats bits not kilobits or kilobytes. would take about 5min to open the google search site! Thought that was the internet or lines company, but a reinstall of windows fixed it. No more xp updates. Infact, the latest linux for dummies will be picked up next Thursday

Yea, only two weeks until Fedora 7, I'm looking forward to it. Fedora, SuSE, and particularly Ubuntu are making ground at a rather great rate. Its not anything that will challenge Microsoft on the desktop yet, although it has the potential to give OSX some grief. However, if Google propperly went to town with a special version of Ubuntu (A google ubuntu distro, or Goobuntu already does exist and is in use at google), there is potential for widespread adoption, particularly in academic areas. Google could really take a quite user friendly distro like Ubuntu, and really turn it into something loved by all with a slick, clean, simple desktop.

Been looking at Kubuntu, however a liter version of Ubuntu such as Xubuntu is looking tempting as it shares similar features of Ubuntu aswell being a bit more quicker since it is lighter on GUI graphics etc.
