Possible to set default homepage for IE6?

I noticed that 7 gives you an option in group policies.. but can't run 7 at work. Trying to figure out how to set a default page for all users that log into a Windows XP Pro domain pc. Also, if there's a way to change an advanced internet option for all users that'd be keen too, specifically for the 'reuse windows for launching shortcuts'. =)

The default home page for IE 6 is stored in the registry (although I don't know where off the top of my head). It should be a simple matter to create a GPO that sets that registry entry to what you want. The same should be possible for your other setting as well.

RE: Possible to set default homepage for IE6?

1.) Go to "Start"->""Run"-> Type in GPEDIT.MSC-> click "OK"
2.) In the Group Policy Editor, go to "User Configuration",
Expand: "Administrative Templates" ->"Windows Components"->
and "Internet Explorer", scroll down to "Disable changing home
page settings" and double click it (opening it). "Enable" it and type
in the home page you want to be displayed for all users.

Or if you want to edit the registry, open up "regedit" and go to:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main" and modify the "start page" string to whatever you want your home page to be.
You may also want to search the rest of the registry (Ctrl+f) for whatever your current home page is set to and modify those strings as well.
