Was down at the local Electronics Boutique, and spotted Quake 4 in the $15 bin, so I figured I'd save waiting on the ebay one to arrive from USA.

Just downloading the Linux installer for it now.

Just installed it and played the first level. Its pretty damned good, I must say.

Dan, I want you to run this command and respond with the results:

cat ~/.quake4/q4base/Quake4Config.cfg

Run that as your normal user, not root (dont su to root)

BTW, on medium settings, stock 6800GT, 2GB RAM, and 2Ghz Athlon 64, Q4 runs at 1680x1050 at a solid 60fps, never dropping except when it saves game. (this is on Fedora 7 64 bit)

Does everything run well in 64 bit? Beryl? Been thinking of reinstalling in 64 bit, will my log of your IM instructions be available of my Linux DVD zip files? Will your instructions still get me where I want to go in 64bit?
