| .XLS is a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet file. Microsoft has a reader that you can download (can't remember where it is at the moment). Alternatively, OpenOffice should be able to open the file in its 'Calc' application. |

| Are you using 32bit or 64bit Fedora? to find out, open a terminal and type: uname -a I'm downloading the demo and trying to replicate the problem. Thankfully Carmack knows what hes doing.

| I actually need to go to bed now, (criminally early morning microcontroller techniques lab tomorrow) but if you can do what I suggested above in the second post I made, that would be good. Theres a chance that Q4 is taking exception to 16bit color.

| I was thinking it might be the 1680X1050 setting inside Quake4, It DID open properly until I ran the Q4 setup and set it to my monitor Rez. The other setting that may be causing this is the "Do you want to use duel core?" or something to that effect, I said yes, but seem to recall it didn't use more that one...

| Could always reset the Q4 config files I guess and change those options one at a time to find out which one is the issue. Incidentally, I played the Q4 demo under Fedora 7 a bit last night before I went to sleep. It's pretty good, and very fast
